Formed in 1906, Federated Humane Societies of Pennsylvania is the nation’s oldest continually active federation of animal welfare organizations. Our non-regulatory member organization represents over 60 animal welfare organizations and individuals from around Pennsylvania.

Federated Humane uses the combined resources and influence of its member agencies to improve the lives and welfare of animals in PA, to implement legislation benefiting animals, and to promote a humane Pennsylvania.

Federated Humane leads the way in ensuring that Pennsylvania’s anti-cruelty laws are enforced and that its member organizations have the tools to continue to move their work forward in the 21st century by providing coordinated Humane Society Police Officer Training and continuing professional education programs.
